Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson (Pariz, 15. travnja 1990.) je engleska glumica poznata po svojoj ulozi Hermione Granger u Harryju Potteru.

Emmini roditelji, Jacqueline Duerre i Chris Watson su odvjetnici i razvedeni su od 1995. Emma ima i mlađeg brata Alexa koji je rođen 1993. Prvih 5 godina života provela je u Francuskoj.

Rani život

Emma je polazila u "Dragon School" i rekla: - Ići u Dragon School je kao da si u klubu, iako završiš uvijek si član, zato sam i ja zauvijek zmaj. Od 2005. polazi u Hendington School koja je otvorena samo za djevojčice.

Emma je velika sportašica, voli Hokej na travi, tenis i rounders.

Prije snimanja Harryja Pottera Emma je bila ograničena na školske predstave. U školi imala je uloge u predstavama kao Arthur: Mlade godine i Sretni kraljević. Emma je sudjelovala u i mnogim drugim manifestacijama kao i Daisy Pratt-natjcenje u poeziji gdje je osvojila prvo mjesto za svoju godinu.

Glumačka karijera

Dobivši ulogu sa 10 svoj debi u filmu Harry Potter i kamen mudraca imala je s 11 kao Hermiona Granger. Nastupila je i u ostalim filmovima o Harryju Potteru: Odaja tajni (2002), Zatočenik Azkabana (2003) i Plameni pehar (2005).

Do 5. veljače 2006. napraviti će fotografiranje za film Harry Potter i Red feniksa (2007.) u kojem ponavlja ulogu najpametnije vještice njenih godina.

Snimanje filmova oduzelo joj je vrijeme za druge obaveze, no rekla je da ne želi da joj Harry Potter bude zadnje što će učiniti. Mlada glumica je u usponu, te je samo pitanje vremena kada će se početi glumiti u još većim Hollywoodskim filmovima.

Uz "Harry Potter", Emma snima film pod nazivom "Ballet Shoes" u kojem također glumi školarku.

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in France on April 15, 1990. At school in England, she took the lead role in several plays including Arthur: The Young Years and The Happy Prince. Besides plays, Emma participated in other school activities including the Daisy Pratt Poetry Competition, in which she won first place at age seven. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was her debut into the world of professional acting. Competing against many other girls for the role of Hermione Granger, she didn't expect to get the part.

Away from the cinematic world, Emma enjoys playing hockey most of all and she also likes debating. Although her hair is brown in the movie, she's naturally a blonde. She once dressed up as a witch for Halloween, but she had no idea that years later, she would be playing one in the Harry Potter movie. Her lawyers parents, Jacqueline and Chris, are divorced. Emma lives with her mother and younger stepbrothers Alex and ???. Her favorite celebrities are Julia Roberts, Goldie Hawn, John Cleese and Sandra Bullock.

[On other roles]: Now that I've played the snotty, bossy, posh Hermione Granger, I'd like to play some American high school girl. I want to play something totally different. I want to play every kind of character and every point of view, but I'm probably going to be playing Hermione for a while.

[If she'd sooner have a great Hollywood career or a great marriage]: Hmmmmm... Can't I have both? But if I would really have to choose, then I'd pick a great marriage. I think it would be amazing if I would get to play beautiful parts and win Oscars, but that would all mean nothing if my parents and friends weren't there with me. What is success when you don't have anybody to love? No, I'd rather be happily married.

[On watching the earlier movies]: It's like baby photos... I look like a chipmunk!

I get sent Bibles. I have a collection of about 20 in my room. People think I need to be guided.

The most challenging aspect of this film was the fact that I was trying to take my A-levels at the same time I was filming. So my life was crazy. One minute I was on set, and the next minute I was doing an exam, or reading a textbook, or doing something, so I was a bit all over the place. Sometimes it's kind of hard to juggle both aspects of my life.

If someone asked me to do something that was beneficial to a cause, then maybe I'd consider it, but not just [to be able to say] 'Look at me! I've got my own line!'

Acting never was about the money for me. ... Maybe in 10 years, I'll be able to appreciate the fact that I am financially stable and independent and I don't have to make bad choices. I can be very picky.
